carolinehong@carolinehong.com.auAustralian story – we have much to learn
We have much to learn from stories shared and told. As a migrant to this country some 40 years ago, I have more reason to learn and understand the people who were here long before us and to respect the culture that existed of the traditional owners, past, present, and future of this beautiful country.
Words from my filmmaker daughter, Vera Hong “ At last…. On our latest documentary project Craig and I have been honored this week to follow the journey of Mungo Man and kin from Canberra back to the Willandra in south western New South Wales. It’s a significant moment in history that reverberates far beyond media headlines and Facebook posts. It has been a week of celebration and sadness; a long long road in the recent past of many decades involving Indigenous and non-Indigenous people from across the country and the world; and a story originating more than forty thousand years ago. Here is some of the news from this week. In the future, we will also have a documentary story to share. xx ”
