Australia’s 29th and new Prime Minister, Hon Malcolm Turnbull announced a 21st Century Government and a ministry for the future yesterday. My last encounter with Malcolm Turnbull was not at a glamorous gala dinner but at the CEO Sleepout event in Sydney raising funds for homeless services this year. 

Let’s see Turnbull lead his people for a vision that is good for our people and Australia’s place in world. 

I am grateful to this country that has given me enormous opportunities to progress and to contribute as a migrant and a woman in a competitive Australia. We often can create our own resourcefulness, success and opportunities despite less than ideal circumstances and policies. 

Every individual who calls Australia home wants to feel pride in their government and their country.

I feel pride for Australia and pride for being an Australian of Chinese heritage. Let’s hope we have a bright future for the next generation.
