On 21 June 2018,  I slept rough for the 2018 Vinnies CEO Sleepout and got a small glimpse for one night of what is a daily reality for thousands of Australians. Just because the event has come to an end, it does not mean that Australia’s homelessness crisis is even close to ending. With your encouragement and generous donation, I was able to raise $10,180.60 at the 2018 CEO Sleepout. This will go directly to Vinnies homeless services, to provide 32 individual support programs, 84 beds and 339 meals.

From 2010 to 2018, for nine consecutive years of CEO Sleepout, supporters have generously donated and helped me raise a total of  $82,511.00 towards Vinnies Homeless services. You have already contributed in making a big difference to people who are less fortunate. and changing someone else’s  life.  Thank you and may God bless you always.

I was pleased to read in the news the announcement by the NSW government that NSW is investing $1 Billion into services for the NSW Homelessness Strategy. I strongly encourage more CEOs to either donate, spread the word and also to register for next year’s CEO Sleepout event in 2019 and beyond. I was pleased that when I asked NSW Deputy Premier Hon. John Barilaro MP to join us this year for this worthy cause, he acted promptly!  Thank you!

I was also pleased to see Monika Tu and her husband, Jad Khattar,  reach great heights achieving the highest Fundraiser Award. It was great that she said YES, when I first wrote to her and invited her to register in 2016. Monika has exceeded her targets each year.

I was also delighted to be asked to present the Ashley Spencer Award his year for the Most Innovative fundraising to Groupon CEO, Steve Traplin. The award was in memory of our dear NSW CEO Sleepout Ambassador and supporter, who unfortunately passed away in 2015.   We registered for the CEO Sleepout event together in 2010 and have worked tirelessly together with the Vinnies Team for this worthy cause. Special thanks to his family and Hilton Worldwide for their continuing support for this worthy cause.

To my buddy at this CEO Sleepout, Hon.Andrew Stoner AM, thank you for supporting homeless services over the years, as a donor, CEO participant and Ambassador.
